What's the concept ?

My prompts for the j2_afterclass  challenge. I was the gifter for weimar27 . First, Let's take a look at the lady's requests for this challenge :

I like first crushes/first boyfriends. [...] I like cute fics (arts), where the boys are adorable. [...]

List of Prompts

→ Jared and Jensen are in band or orchestra.
→ Jared and Jensen are members of the same team. Would be cool if it was college tennis, but any sports team is fine.
→ Jared/Jensen has a crush on his older brother's friend who is either Jensen/Jared.

I choose Prompt#2 and I focused on "High School and Sport". As Weimar also liked schmoop I tried to mix the two. To cut a long story short, if you like young!J2, tennis, football, basket ball but also High School shirts, the arts below are for you. (If you prefer monsters and blood, it's time to take some vacations and to come back next week ಠ_ಠ ). I added a theme in addition to High School, schmoop and sport : the four seasons.

Theme : Sport  (Tennis), the Js playing in the same team

Theme : Sport (Basket Ball) and...schmoop!!!

Theme : Sport (Football) and more schmoop!!

4) Autumn

Theme : Matching High School shirts (and Jared's dog ^^)

5) Winter

Theme : High School. I must admit I have been a little bit selfish with this one as I absolutely wanted to draw Jensen with a pair of glasses....

JUST A LITTLE BIT OF PHOTOSHOP RAMBLING

Tools of the trade :
- Art #1 : Photoshop CS - Painter Essential 3
- Art #2, 3, 4, 5 : Manga Studio Debut - Photoshop CS - Screentones 

For Arts #2, 3, 4 and 5, I used Manga Studio for the line work....



...and then added some screentones with Photoshop CS before coloring. 




References photos : Boys playing football, boys on a couch, boy sharing a Tshirt with his boyfriend.
Screentones : Mainly from the DA page called..Screentones!

Oh my! This made my boring day so much better! The adorableness of it is just...awww! I love them being all cuddly together like this. It's just so perfect.

And Jensen in glasses is pretty much the hottest thing ever, so I gotta ask...any chance to get an icon of the black and white one you used in the banner? It's just gorgeous!

Thanks a lot for the great comment about my works :) I should have just drawn one or two pics but when I had the idea of "The four seasons", I couldn't help it, I drew the 4 illustrations one after the others ^^;; It was definitely a LOT of fun particularly "Winter" because of the highlights.

*grins* Lovely set! I see you have made good use of your own tutorial on creating rain drop effects... My fave is Autumn because of the reds, the light on the glass of the window, the leaves blowing and the pylons - oh and the gloomy glare of the dog!! But I also love the Winter one because I have a thing for Jensen in glasses, and because I loved the newsprinty Japanesey background and the snow.
PS bwahahaha at your little rude blushing Dean chibi icon!!!!! :D

I've been using this "raindrop technique" for ages. I saw a tutorial one day on a French forum but I changed it a bit because I wasn't satisfied with the final rending. I must admit that every time I can add drops (water, sweat), I do it XD
My icon must be the most ridiculous thing I've produced in ages. I filled a prompt for the spn_kink_art comm. Someone wanted Dean with Sam's hoodie and "nothing else". I started to work on it seriously and I don't know why I dropped for a "chibie version" in the middle ^^

Oh WOW....I love them all. But I prefer darker tones of Autumn and Winter (Jensen in glasses is cute as a button) plus the general feel of Winter is so Jensen'ish....But my favourite facial drawings are 2 and 3 and the top banner.
The Spring pose is simply adorable....I love Jared being all possessive like that!

OMG.

I LOVE the tennis one. It's just SO amazing. Especially the way Jensen's positioned, ready to get the return or he looks like hes going to cross the court after Jared. Also that they're both in white. It's just so well done and I love the action in it.

After that I like Autumn and Winter. I like the way they're relaxing in autumn and Harley is a really cool touch.

And as for winter, Jensen in glasses is adorable.

Summer and Spring are just cute. Guys being affectionate, which I love.

Hi Weimar ^^

Glad you enjoyed your gift so much. I tried to focus on one prompt (Sport). I wish I had the time to draw something with Jensen playing piano or the boys playing together in a band but it would have been strange in the middle of this "sport theme post" so I finally dropped and tried to include as many sports as possible. It's only when I finished that I realized I didn't include Base Ball ಠ_ಠ

- Do you colour in PS or painter?
For pure CG paintings, both. For coloring drawings done in Manga Studio, just Photoshop :)

- how do you do your backgrounds?
* I draw them when it's a CG painting, rarely I paint over because I hate backgrounds even if I try to refrain painting over. Yes, I use reference pictures (from de DA stock) but not on the Tennis one because it was just a couple of bushes and a sky, nothing sophisticated.
* I used screentones for "mangaish" illustrations.
