Demain, je meure un peu: je débranche mon ordi et j'essaye d'envoyer mon écran ^^;;

Just a thought...I would love to know about how you learned to draw...how you started out...your favorite techniques...your workspace...things like that.
I love to draw realistic images...although so far I have been sticking to still life because I just can't seem to get faces right. Not that I'm bad with faces...it's just that when I draw Jensen or Jared...the drawing is okay...it just doesn't look like them...if you know what I mean.
I just love your style...I would love to be able to draw like you in the future so I am really curious about how you started out and how you got to where you are.
If you don't feel like it, I understand...just know I love your work and aspire to draw like you someday. :-)

I'm sorry, I didn't see the comment you left on my art master post asking me questions about my technique, etc...LJ being down didn't help either :/ Thank you so much for your very kind comment about my work ♥

Ok! So if you want to know more about me I wrote this article on Spnroundtable about one year ago: http://spnroundtable.livejournal.com/223411.html

How I started: I started with mangas :( Bad start, VERY bad start because when I wanted to start drawing in a realistic style, I had to "un-learn" everything and to forget what I knew about manga. It was horrible. It took me ages because there was always something "manga-ish" in my work but it finally went away! My aunt, who is an art teacher helped me a lot. The trouble is that she doesn't know anything about PS so I had to learn on my own. I used the book "Photoshop for Dummies" (don't laugh).
For the rest it's practice by reproducing photos of actors and people from my family, a lot of "AAAAAH NOOOOOOO!!", a lot of drawings thrown in the trash. I'm 34, I started to draw at 8 so I've been drawing for 26 years. I used my aunt's art books about body proportions and anatomy to learn how to draw faces (no Internet at the time)

Photoshop: I rarely start working on Photoshop directly. I can't. I work on a sketch on a piece of paper with the reference photos in front of me. Then I scan the picture and I open it in Photoshop. The number of layers depends on the drawing but I do something that is unusual for someone who works in PS, I flatten the image quite often (it's bad): when I use PS, I tend to use the software as if I was working on a real canvas. It's completely ridiculous.

My workspace: I have a computer that is about 2 year old (Windows XP) with softwares like Photoshop CS, CS4, Artrage, Manga Studio, Painter Essential 3 and Paint tool SAI (you don't need all that, the number of softwares I have is ridiculous). I have a tablet, a Wacom Bamboo fun. When it comes to traditional art, I work on a small pink table in my living room with all kind of paintings mainly watercolors, poster paints, pastels and color pencils.

If you want to find great help when it comes to realistic style, you should check out Euclase Tumblr, she posts great tutorials about realistic style, colors, drawing faces etc..

I hope it helped, if you have other questions, just ask :)

Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer! It means a lot...I feel so lost when it comes to drawing...I am just starting out. So it is awesome to hear about how you started. It gives me real hope that someday I can be just as good. Thank you again...I'm going to copy all this down.

Just.... wooooooow!!! How come that I never saw your amazing art earlier?? They are beautiful and... wow. I couldn't not leave a comment for you! :) I read lots and lots of spn fics, and some had photoshopped pictures or drawings in them, but I never even stopped for a second to notice them... Your illustrations are just brilliant, and beautiful, and as soon as I saw the first one, I stopped reading the fic to see more of them, and I think I'm in love :)) You are really, really talented!

It's impossible to know everything that's happening on LJ and to know every artist in this fandom. There are so many! I discovery new artists everyday on LJ, Tumblr and Deviant Art ♥

Thank you so much for the amazing feedback about my arts! I didn't collaborate with a lot of authors for fan fictions arts but here is the list:
- dragonspell: small small world
- akintay: you are the one with your finger on the gun
- unreckless: ace (the story was never finished)
- ancastar: moonstruck
- arealwildchild: smoke and lightning

Thanks a lot ♥

HI,
My name is Jan and I am on the concom of a media convention (Revelcon) held in Houston TX in March of each year. I noticed your Supernatural artwork today as I was looking for a wallpaper for my new computer. Who ever you are, Petite_Madame, you rock. I would like to talk to you about submitting art work to our convention art show. You can reach me at aeriejm@earthlink.net. Thanks.

Hi Jan.
I'm sorry about the delay, Christmas is one of the busiest moments of the year for me. Thank you very much for your very kind message and for the great feedback about my work. :)

Concerning the convention, I'm sorry, I never submit artworks to cons. I try to separate my fan works from the actors and the show staff, and to stay under the radar. I know it's strange ^^;; Thank you very much for your understanding.

Of course that's ok! Thank you so much ♥
I've been enjoying your photos for years too and I must admit that the ones you took in Nashville are amongst my favorite Con photos ever. Jared in these is so...so..I have no words ^o^

Honestly, thank you for your hard work, going to the cons, being in the first rows, taking all these photos. (not blurred with a finger in the frame like the ones I took in Paris...). You have no idea how you help fan artists with your photos ♥

I stumbled upon your work a few months ago and have since scoured the net for every piece I can find. You are the most talented and wonderful artist and, though I'm biased by preference, your SPN and J2 work is just astounding, poignant, and perfect. Thank you so, so much for creating and sharing so freely with all of us. I know this kind of work takes an amazing amount of time and effort even if you love doing it-which you very obviously do-and just want you to know how very much it's appreciated.
