Hi!

In the series "I have awesome fandom friends and they are all cinnamon rolls too precious for this world", I'd like to tell you about a community created especially for me (yes, you read that correctly) called to_pm_with_love where they gathered tons of great fics, artworks, recipes and super kind messages. Yes, this year hasn't been very funny but I'll survive (I hope!) xD

People are so kind! I still think I don't deserve all this because you know, all I do is drawing fan arts so I don't have the impression to do something spectacular or at least something that requires people to devote so much of their time for me.

Firstly, you're creating and spreading beauty and joy. That's not something everyone can do, and many of the people who can do it do it for profit. That's not bad—it's their skill that they are selling—but the fact that what you draw is fanart, and so you share it with fellow fans for free, is absolutely remarkable and wonderful.

Secondly, everyone does fanart. It could be fanart of Dean Winchester or Bucky Barnes, or fanart of a nice tree they saw, or fanart of people from history or mythology or religion, aka classic paintings and statues. It could be fanart of a dream they had. Professional book illustrators are all technically doing fanart for the story they're drawing.

Thirdly, your fanart is inspirational (as evidenced by the comm!). They give people something to gaze at and enjoy, something to aspire to, stories to dream about. I can't count how often I've perused your Instagram (I'm readyplayerzero :D) or reblogged Men of Letters and found myself, hours later, thinking about a piece you posted and daydreaming of the scene or story surrounding the shot. You create worlds and stories with your art!

The fact that you're drawing fanart makes no difference; the fact that you put so much time and effort into it, share it with people, and make us so happy—especially with how prolific you are!—makes all the difference in the world. :) So never think that what you do and who you are isn't spectacular, because it is, and you are!

Yes, when people in the fandom decide to gather and to get involved in a project (whatever the project) the result is always stunning! However, I was far from imagining that I would become myself "a fandom project". xD It's amazing and I can't thank people enough for everything they did for me and all the time they devoted to this comm.
