The Calendar-Wallpaper Project: Calendar-free wallpapers!

What's the concept?

During the year 2011, I posted one drawing a month (alongside other arts, it wasn't my only project) all inspired by a fan fiction (to cut a long story short, it was one month, one drawing, one calendar wallpaper). It was a way to pay tribute to all the authors and stories I enjoyed in the past few years in the Supernatural fandom.

What's different from your preceding posts?

In this post, all the wallpapers are available in their original size (or a bit smaller) but without the calendar at the bottom. It means you can now use them whenever you want! (From the feedbacks I received, something tells me that some of you are going to spend their whole year 2012 with the wallpaper devoted to The Doors of Time )

FIrst, two comments: 1) Making me pick a favorite is really mean, because your work is, as always, stunning, and 2) I haven't read all these fics, and now I'll have to do it, because you liked them, and I have to sleep sometime!

That being said, I think Doors is my favorite; loved the fic and loved what you did with Jensen. Small, Small World is also awesome. Last Day on Earth is so great; it totally captures Sam and Dean. And in More Than You'll Know, Dean's smile is so completely Dean that I just can't get over it.

It's hard to find time to read fan fictions :/ I have a Kindle, it helps a lot! I can read in the bus when I go to work but sometimes I have to pay attention that nobody reads above my shoulder ^^;; I would be...huh...awkward!

Pick a favorite? Are you out of your mind?! How?! *headdesk* Okay, uhm… *stares too long at art, drools* Wow, this is hard! *stares more* I pick Small Small World, because of how loving they look, how happy they obviously are, the color choices, the clarity/crispness of the images, and the dimensionality (3D-ness?).

Seriously, I truly love every one of these; I honestly had to put a lot of thought into choosing just one. I'd better hit the 'post' button fast, before I change my mind. *L*

Knowing you, I knew you wouldn't choose A Bleak Understanding in Reverse ^^ I thought about you when I worked on my RBB, back in July-August. One of my first ideas was one where...Jensen died like in the Guns n' Roses' November Rain PV. I dropped because I knew that nobody would want to write a story where Jensen dies in the first pages. You would have cried a lot while reading the story ^^;;

I liked the glomp-able, hug-able, kissable, tackle-able/attack-able photos XD, what am I saying, I liked all and it's so hard to choose, each of them are wonderfully done, a project for each of the month of the Year 2011 is full of good memories. Glad you loved the stories too!! Some of them were pretty famous ("fandom classics") but apparently a lot of people in my Flist didn't know stories like "Future Tense" or "A Bleak Understanding In Reverse". I was more than happy to rec' them with my art ♥

I really like them all but there is just something about Last Day on Earth that really grabs me. I really like the fairy in the last one. Bulletproof and Smoke and Lightning make neat bookends seen together above. Again, really lovely work on them all. I had facets of each that I could gush about.

I tried not to draw too many hurt!Dean for this project. I LOVE hurt!Dean and if I could I would have drawn him every month but it wasn't the goal of this project, so...^^;;;

I love all of these. I haven't had the chance to read all of the fics that you made art for because It's been a busy year but i have them all bookmarked.

I don't have a particular favourite although January and February are high up on the list. Maybe August too.

You actually give me something to aspire too because i would love to have you make one of these for my writing although a) my writing sucks and b) i only write Destiel and you don't seem to do calendar pages of that pairing.

Hah, well, as much as I have loved each piece of art.. I've had the Doors of Time on as background since you posted it :p Only change I've done is changing to the one without the calender text when you provided that.

It's my fav Jensen showing skin.. how could I ever change that? :p

I can't blame you to spend your all year with the DOT wallpaper: I love it too when Jensen shows some skin! (he should do it more often in the show..just saying...) For the moment, this wallpaper is everybody's favorite. It's the one with more votes followed by A Bleak Understanding in Reverse and Do I look bulletproof to you :)

Great! Now I can go print "The Doors of Time" as a big photograph to be proudly displayed in my room! Yay! :P
Your arts are some of the most amazing ones floating around in the J2/SPN fandom and so each and every one of these are wonderful in their own way. But I have a particularly proclivity for "The Doors of Time" as it is also my favorite fic out there.
So, my favorite is without a doubt "The Doors of Time" which has, throughout the year, served as the background for my laptop and my mobile phones (which I'm now going to update with the new calendar-less photo.)
I also have a thing for "Do I Seem Bulletproof To You?" (there's just something about Jensen looking so fragile and yet so striking that it draws me in, making me want to stare at it for hours!) and "Future Tense" which kind of reminds me of one of your earlier drawings, "For Ever and Ever", only in color.

P.S. I'm glad you managed to get your hands on "A Bleak Understanding In Reverse". It wouldn't have been quite the same with one of the arts missing. :)

C'est extrêmement difficile de choisir mon illustration favorite. "A bleak understanding in reverse" est tout simplement magnifique. L'expression des visages si triste, leur position et la force que l'on sent en Dean alors Sam disparaît petit à petit de son étreinte...Splendide.
"Smoke and Lightning" parce que je suis une dingue de tatouages !!! :D Je suis déjà à deux ! Je pourrais continuer sans fin sur toutes les autres. Ton travail est juste incroyable non seulement par la technique mais aussi par l'émotion qui est toujours au premier plan et le choix des scenes.

J'adore les tatouages aussi, j'en ai plein (tout le dos, les flancs, etc...) et je vise une manche complète mais punaise, qu'est ce que ça coute cher! ><

You shouldn't have done that, I mean print it in a cropped version. You should have contacted me and asked me a version without the calendar, I would have gladly provided it to you! It would have been better for printing it on a canvas!
If one day you are interested in printing one of my works again and that there is text on it, don't hesitate to ask me! (except for the arts I used for my J2 and D/C Xmas cards, but for the rest, it's ok! ^^)

Um, so I only found your wallpapers in November, but I think they're all brilliant. And I would have used them all again next year, never mind the fact that the calendar wasn't right any more.

I think my favourite's March. Couldn't say why. It's just the one that resonates. Although I also quite liked November because in that one, Jensen looks very like one of my friends, and it made me smile every time I saw it.

So thanks for the wallpaper. And thanks for giving me links to all these utterly brilliant stories. I haven't finished them yet, but I'll have a wallpaper for each when I'm reading them.

I'm sorry, it was too much pressure. Being on time at the end of each month was a bit difficult. In addition preparing each post with the ten wallpaper sizes and the banner was a lot of work so I preferred ending this project at the end of 2011. :)

I've really looked forward to seeing a new little masterpiece each month and I'm going to miss them next year. Every one of them is lovely, but my favorites are Moonstruck and Bright Lights of Disturbia -- I like the action and implied horror-thriller story behind them, and I especially like your renderings of Dean/JA, who I find extremely hard to draw.

While I like looking at the others, I'm not a great fan of "schmoopy" stuff or Wincesty stuff or stories where the guys' names and faces are employed in a story but little else about them (though sometimes they work for me). I also like Small Small World a lot, largely because I love it when you put your own little odd, funny touches on what's otherwise a straightforwardly objective piece.

I also like the musical notes sliding off the staves and pages in The Doors of Time; I've got a music background (studied violin for years and now review music/ians for a newspaper) and sometimes music does seem like that!

It was too much work ^^;; It was a bit hard to always be ready on time at the end of each month. That's why I stopped. There were so many fics I wanted to work on but it was too difficult to prepare each post with an art in 10 sizes and a custom banner ^^;;

I love February too because of the green peas, the Del Montes. I still draw them sometimes ^^ I don't even know how Dragonspell managed to write a coherent story with all this madness but she did it! Green peas became characters on their own :)

Apparently, the choice was difficult (which is an amazing compliment ^^)
