Your story jumped out at me when I was looking at the prompts. I know I'm not the only one to whom it screamed "WRITE ME! WRITE THIS STORY RIGHT NOW!" so I feel incredibly lucky and privileged to have been the one given the opportunity to put (extra) words to your images. I especially adored the contrast between the current timeline, all the dark blues and purples, and the less saturated sepia tones of the flashbacks to the thirties. Not to mention the blood-red of the Winter Soldier's thoughts and past experiences, which translated in my head to the Winter Soldier's music from the movie (that terrible shrieking sound you hear only when the Winter Soldier is around).
In short, this was brilliant I am the luckiest author alive. <3

I'm very happy you enjoyed how I drew the flashback. I tried to find a way to make them different from the rest but it was hard because the palette had to stay coherent.

I read a very interesting article where the composer explained that he wanted something very cold, very mechanic for the Winter Soldier and that the music when the WS was around, was inspired by experimental music and that it had to sound very messy and unstructured. :D

did you draw everything then scan it in and add the colours etc? I'm in love with the textures and details
I did it for the first page (scanning + redrawing) but I drew the rest directly in PS (page 2 and 3). Scanning + redrawing doesn't help a lot when I draw comics because I tend to add a lot of elements in the page, change the layout, sometimes change the pose or the reference pictures. I prefer working directly in PS.
For instance if you look at page 1, the bottom panel, I added the Winter Soldier walking near the KGB files (he wasn't there on the prompt I submitted but when I drew the page, there was clearly something missing on the left)
The grainy effect is obtained thanks to two things:
- I added just a bit of noise (Gaussian, monochromatic, 1 or 2 points)
- I added at a very low opacity a grainy texture on some part of the pic (soft light, I think the opacity was about 30%)
